Don't be Late

07 Oct 2016

Whether it's you or someone you love, running late can not only ruin friendships, but jeopardise working relationships as well. But why is it so annoying and what are some tips to get you to your appointment 'on point' and 'on time'.

First things first, why are you late all the time? It comes down to personality type.

Which one of these are you...

THE THRILL SEEKER

You love the thrill of rushing to make a deadline and thrive on leaving things to the last minute. You try and get the most out of each and every minute of the day even if it is at the detriment of others.

FIX IT... Pre plan everything! If it's a work deadline, set yourself and earlier one and hand it in early. If it's a dinner party, take the arrival time and count back allowing travel, parking and getting ready.

THE 'TO DO' LISTER

You tick off your 'to do' list without shame and won't leave the house until everything is done your way or the highway! You underestimate how long things will take and hate the thought of wasting time.

FIX IT... Take it easy cowboy! Don't put too much pressure on yourself and divide your tasks into priorities. Get to urgent things first and leave the rest to tomorrow.

THE DIDDLE-DADDLER

You are easily distracted and sometimes downright flaky. You lose your keys, forget appointments and don't wear a watch. You are easily distracted by morning TV, text messages and the daily 'what to wear' debates in your head.

FIX IT... Get organised! Pre plan your morning. Pick what you are wearing the night before, pre make your lunch and turn off the TV to avoid any distractions. Once you on track, feel free to check text messages or shop online!
